Sharon Steadman’s entrepreneurial roots stem from her grandfather, who immigrated to the United States in his 40s with little knowledge of English and few monetary resources. With hard work and dedication to family and his business, he developed and built a successful company and brand from scratch.
His business involved plants, and the beauty of life continues to resonate within Sharon in health care. His spirit taught Sharon the value of exceptional customer care as he continuously looked to identify ways to improve the service that he provided to customers, including finding solutions to keep plants alive and beautiful long after the initial transaction. He was also one of the first businesses in the area to adopt technology to improve his business and customer base.
Sharon’s interest in healthcare started as a young girl at the dinner table while listening to her father, an OB/GYN in a rural area, discussing challenges and frustrations with the healthcare system. Although he discouraged Sharon and her brothers from pursuing health care as a profession, Sharon was drawn to addressing the challenges and disparities ever present in health care.
